Getting the Buzz about Parent Child Education out into the Vast World of the Internet!

We are just two moms and friends that wanted to use our unique skills to build something that we could earn a living and put our boys through college. It’s not lofty but it is our driving force. So what we are doing is a labor of love.  We love what we are doing because we love working with children - the inspiration for of all of this.  We both work at home and it’s been hard to get our name out into the big world.  Since we aren’t extroverts, going out of our way to meet others has not been second nature but it has been surprisingly invigorating going out and meeting new people, learning new things and being exposed to new areas of learning.  We have been introduced through the web to new ways of thinking:
The University of Michigan School of Business - Positive Links (http://www.bus.umich.edu/Positive/) monthly speakers - like Traci Fenton from Worldblu who talked about building a company based on a democratic process, companies that encourage positive acknowledgment of others efforts (The Love Machine) and A & O - weekly accomplishments and objectives that each individual and records for others to see in the organization.  It helps individuals within the organization see what everyone is working on and allows them to assist in each others on projects if they have talents skills to offer.
Donuts and Search Marketing - put on by Pure Visibility in Ann Arbor, MI (http://purevisibility.com/services/). We heard about great ways to introduce people to businesses on the web using tools available for all, like: Google Analytics, prwire and Adwords.
Attended a local Chamber of Commerce meeting and were introduced to others in the area working to grow their businesses and how we can help each other, as well as, wonderful local free business services that we were unaware of through the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center.
Went to listen to a speaker on self-publishing a book and learned that we should get our logo covered under trademark laws and since we are a bit shy, media training. Where does one get that? Another thing to learn about!
Attended a meeting at the Better Business Bureau office where they had Barry Demp, coaching master provide wonderful information for networking and building business relationships. Great motivator!
This month is going by fast and we’ve got so much accomplished and have gotten so much done
