Wow! The website has a new, bright and cheery look, thanks to Chantal. She made new templates for the pages then painstakingly went through each screen and transferred it over to the new format. We decided to change the web page from the warm rose tone with the stately columns to bright and cheerful oranges and yellows with a silhouette of parents surrounding a child with their arms. I love the picture that Chantal drew. It’s simple yet matches what we think of when parents and their child are working together: A caring family. Although it took weeks for Chantal to convert all of our pages over – what a long process, she figured it was better to do it now then when we have even more pages. Yikes!
Chantal figures out so many new things on the computer, she is truly gifted. The hours of checking and rechecking links, pages, videos and spelling have come together beautifully. The site looks so warm and friendly to me. I love all the videos right on the front page so anyone can easily scan through to find what they may be looking for.
After months of writing up lessons at home while Chantal is working on uploading them, editing the videos and everything else she magically does at her house, we stopped to take the pulse of where we are with Parent Child Education and where we want to be. Although we are having fun, it is hard for both of us to work alone on our own projects only to come together once a week. We like working together, we like the energy we get from one another and we felt we were losing our direction. Yes, we want to provide lessons but just doing written lessons isn’t fun. We get so excited when we talk about projects we have done in the past. We miss working with children and that is when it occurred to us – that is what we need to do! Follow our passion! We hope others agree. We think our enthusiasm for working with children will come through the videos of lesson ideas or projects and will be more assessable for people than just writing it all out. We’ll also have lessons written out but we intend to follow what brings us joy. We believe you’ll enjoy the lessons more too! Let us know if there is a lesson you would like to see – in video or in text. Until then – have fun, we are!
