It's always hard to hear of someone dieing but it's also heart retching when it's a relative of a student. I don't want the family or my student to feel any more sadness by bringing it up but I do want them to know I can empathize with them and I want to give them the support that they need. Sweet Helen and Curious Charlie lost their grammy today. Knowing Helen - she is quietly processing it all. My heart goes out to all of them.
