Words Your Child Needs to Hear

In the Parenting Awareness Month packet was a sheet with words of encouragement that every child needs and deserves to hear.  I thought it was a wonderful reminder that everyone needs encouragement, but especially our kids.  They want to shine in our eyes so don't forget to give them some warm fuzzies even when they aren't perfect. Find something positive that you can say to them, it helps soften the blow of making a mistake.  Here are their examples:

• I'm so lucky to have you.
• You are a great helper.
• I like it when you try so hard.
• Let's talk about it.
• I'm sorry.
• You're very special to me.
• Thank you for being patient.
• You're a great kid.
• I love you.
